Sunday Sep 08, 2024
Sunday Sep 08, 2024
This episode is an encore featuring Blue Star Records 1001, the first long-play album featuring Marshall Flippo.
Released in June 1961 and an excellent representation of the square dance music, calls, and style of the time. For today's dancer, you may notice there are none of the "Ocean Wave" calls that are so popular today. The pace of dancing is a bit quicker and is true "wind-in-your-face" dancing. Marshall Flippo was the master of moving dancers smoothly from call to call.
